Wedding: Rosie and AJ

Rosie and AJ found A Beautiful Day through Lea. Rosie had alot of the big details nailed down, but needed A Beautiful Day's touch on alot of the little details!

Rosie and AJ's wedding took place at AJ's family church, Black Oak Heights Baptist Church, with a reception in the church's Fellowship hall. The sanctuary was unique in that the seats were curved around the front of the stage, making the ceremony feel more intimate. The lighting on the stage was wonderful and helped highlight the arbor and candleabras that Rosie and Aj picked out. We created some flower arrangements and draped yellow satin sashes on the arbor, and set up a small table for the floating unity candle. For the center aisle, we added our famous chair ties, alternating in white and yellow, with the opposite color Gerbera daisy, and finishing it off with a blue satin bow.

Rosie's bouquet was filled with blue and white hydrangea, white and yellow roses, and white and yellow Gerbera daisies.
Her MOH and bridesmaids carried bouquets of bright blue hydrangea, yellow roses, and yellow Gerbera daisies.

For the reception, Rosie purchased a variety of royal blue bud vases to mix and match as centerpieces. We placed then on mirror tiles and filled them with yellow Gerbera daisies. Then we circled them with rose petals and votive candles. We finished them off with a few silver "Thank You" mints.

Alicia Fugate of Alicia's Cakes for All Occasions baked the wedding cake. It was a delicious chocolate and buttercreme cake topped with fondant. The groom's sister, Leslie, baked Red Velvet cupcakes topped with cream cheese icing for AJ's groom's cake!

The wonderful ladies at the church came up with a great spread of food including fruit, vegetable and cheese platters, meatballs, chicken tenders, and much more!!
Thanks Rosie and AJ for allowing us to be a part of your special day!!

Wedding: Amy and Nick

Amy and I were sorority sisters back in college. I found out she was engaged via the social media mecca of the world, Facebook! After meeting at Panera for lunch one day, she decided I was a good fit for her and Nick's wedding!!

Amy and Nick's ceremony was held at Graystone Presbyterian Church. This church is gorgeous and needs little decorating! Amy's bridesmaids wore short black satin dresses and carried a bouquet of hot pink, light pink, yellow, and orange Gerbera daisies done by Lisa Foster Floral Design. Amy's bouquet was of white hydrangea, roses, calla lilies, and Gerbera daisies. We tied ivory satin sashes on the pews with black bow accents. Below is a picture of the programs I designed and printed.

The reception was held at Calhoun's on the River. We were so excited about Calhoun's because their food is yummy and the view is gorgeous!! My favorite thing at the reception was the guest book table, topped with Amy's bridal portraits and some pictures of the couple. We accented it with votives, Gerberas, and twinkle lights! Centerpieces on the reserved tables were brandy snifters with Gerbera daisies floating inside. We used a black satin table runner, mini votives, and rose petals to accent the tables. The smaller tables consisted of a hurricane vase filled with sand and a candle. The tables were accented with a mirror and rose petals. We also came up with centerpieces for 17 outside tables using cylinder vases, candles, Gerberas, and black glass beads. The cake was a four-tiered cake decorated with Gerbera daisies. The groom's cake was a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and apparently it was so good, even the groom didn't get to try a piece! I'll have to see what I can do about that!(Photo by: Tracy Laser Cross)

Wedding: Michelle and Adam

I met Michelle and Adam through Lea and Scott. When Michelle got engaged back in October, Lea suggested she use A Beautiful Day as her wedding planner. I'm so happy she chose us and I feel so privileged to be a part of their special day!Michelle and Adam were married at Ridge Valley Farms in Maryville with a reception immediately following. The bridesmaid's wore navy blue dresses accented with silver sashes, and carried a bouquet of ivory roses. The Maid of Honor, who just happened to be a long lost sorority sister of mine, carried an ivory rose and blue cornflower bouquet. Michelle's bouquet was a bundle of ivory roses and blue cornflower crowned with more blue cornflower. The boutonnieres and corsages were made up of ivory roses, spray roses, and cornflower. We made a large arrangements for the ceremony filled with hydrangea, roses, calla lillies, Asiatic lillies, spider mums, and cornflower. We also tied navy sashes on the aisle chairs for the ceremony.
Michelle wanted to keep the reception very simple and intimate, so we used navy and silver table runners. We placed a mirror tile in the center of each table and added 3 candles and rose petals. A few days before the wedding, my assistant and I had some scraps of navy paper left from the wedding invites and decided to create bookmarks for additional favors aside from the Photobooth. Since Michelle is an English teacher, the bookmarks were very appropriate and she loved the idea! In addition, Michelle had a wonderful idea to place different song titles on each table. When your table's song was played, that meant it was time for you to join in the buffet line! This was a HUGE hit and I definitely made a mental note for future weddings!! The cake was very elegant with navy ribbon accents, however it was so warm in the building, the cake baker suggested not placing the candles (which were supposed to be part of the cake deco) on the cake or they would fall through. Adam's groom's cake was the oh-so-popular Tennessee Vols football field complete with the checkerboard endzone, fitting for any UT fan!! It was so yummy!! And we can't forget the new and improved Photobooth set-up!!
